The Original Recipe

The Original Recipe
Founder Jennifer Sanford’s grandmother, Juanita, drew on traditional healing remedies from her heritage—using what was around her—fresh herbs, native plants, and whole foods from her garden and farm—to craft therapeutic home remedies for the family. One standout recipe was a nourishing poultice packed with vital nutrition and made with life-giving maize, soothing aloe leaf, and fortifying egg yolk. Handed down to Jennifer by her father, it became the breakthrough weapon against her teenage skin struggles. That skin-saving salve not only sparked the birth of Shimmer Chef, but also inspired our very first product, the Honey Lime Polenta Face & Neck Plaster.
